Absolutely. I just switch back and forth.
Just use "mail" as both your POP and SMTP
server names. If this doesn't work, you
can POP in from anywhere using netmail.home.com,
I think.

My mail client is Netscape 4.7. My method is
clunky because Netscape only allows a profile
to have one POP server defined. You are
using Evolution, which hopefully accepts
multiple POP servers.

(This transition is part of why Cox recommended
Outlook Express, which allows you to have
multiple personalities at the same time.)

When I want to see if there's anything but spam
left in my @Home account, I just do the following
with Netscape 4.7. You should be able to use this
to deduce how to do it with Evolution.

  Edit / Preferences / Mail & Newsgroups
Edit my pop server, set it to "mail"
Type "mail" also in my SMTP server
  OK

Now I ask Netscape to get my new messages.
They load into my same inbox, which is nice.

NOTE -- I do not change my "identity".
But if I'm using the mail / mail servers,
and want to unsubscribe from a mailing list,
then I need to change my "identity" to
vodhner@home.com when sending the unsubscribe
message, then change it back.

Good luck,

Vic
