Not to start a flame war, but I want some opinions on video cards under X and
how you feel the support is.

I use an ATI Rage 128 16mb agp. The linux support is great, 2d and 3d is
excellent with this card. I have no complaints.

My best friend uses a GForce 2 MX 32mb pci card. The nVidia drivers are
excellent for 3d gaming, but his machine freezes up a lot. When playing 3D
games or using konqueror to view the web it locks up very often with the
nvidia drivers. But while using the frame buffer, it works flawlessy, but no
accelleration.

What is your take on this? Do the nVidia drivers lock up machines a lot? Or
should he look into a new card?

What video cards do plug users use? What kinds of problems do you have with
normal 2d vs. 3D ?
