Michael,
What hardware do you plan on running ubuntu/xubuntu on? xubuntu is very
lightweight b/c of xfce. I for one, run ubuntu on all of my workstations and
am quite happy with it. If you can be more specific regarding your
expectations/requirements I may be able to help shed light on the subject.
