Is it yet possible to _really_ switch from Windows?

At the risk of being shot. Windows is not that bad of an desktop OS. That said, if it was free and open it would still not be my only desktop OS; but it is not bad. The problem most people have is that it is expensive and when you run into problems you are often unable to fix them. I have those problems less then most because I have been messing with MS for a very long time. However I can do more in Linux with less time, and when I have trouble I have people I can ask. In the end, Windows has issues, Linux has issues, even Macs have issues (but not many) thus you will have issues, but you get to chose the issues you have. Since their was no variable cost to my Windows OS, I run windows on my main home desktop and I run Windows on one of my work desktops. But I also have an all Linux desktop and two Linux VM's at home (would be better if I could get the VM tools RPM working) and a Linux desktop at work with a Windows VM. I pick my battles and use different tools for different jobs. I also use Mac OS X at home, but that box is showing it's age.
Basically, go ahead and rant, we have all been their, but many of us have been in just as deep and suffered just as much frustration in windows. (like why does Firefox on my MS WMC box run so darn slow and need to finish working on each task before I can move on!)

I have been using Linux as my sole desktop since before 2000 at home, in my own company, and currently where I work.
All systems have problems. you get to pick your problems when you pick your platform. I would rather deal with Linux problems than windows problems. just my preference.
But yes, Linux does suck. It just sucks less than windows IMHO.
