I have to second this. While most places won't ever provide flac, it
is a terrific middle-of-the-road. I have a RAID5 setup at home with
all of my CDs ripped to flac format, and when I need a CD, I rip the
songs i want to wav and burn them to CD. If I'm going to use my MP3
player, I rip to MP3.

I have lots of scripts to make it easier, though.... a bit of typing
if your a lazy guy like I am.
