A while ago I posted my resume here. Just last week I visited a resume
service, and it's changed drastically. I want you to see a before and
after to see how much of a difference it makes. It was well worth it.

The particular resume service is from Barbara Urlaub,
http://www.resumepro.net , resumegold@cox.net .

I found the service through The Layoff Lounge, which has a number of
resume services available on the spot. The Layoff Lounge announces
their meetings in the AZtech forum,
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/aztech-events/ , and just started their
own web forum at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/phxlayofflounge/ , but
it's a bit inactive at the moment. Kathy kathy@innovative-voice.com who
organizes The Layoff Lounge does her best in her mailing list.

cheers,
Alexander

<h2>Career Objective:</h2>

<p>To work on fascinating projects with full autonomy. I would like
to work either as an independant or as a consultant on a small,
agile team, and to drive some neat projects to completion. Pure
software projects or business solutions are currently my interests,
however given the time and opportunity I am capable of handling any
engineering project.</p>

<h2>Education:</h2>

<ul>
<li>University of Nevada, Las Vegas<br>
BS in Computer Science, minor in business; 1997</li>

<li>Arizona State University<br>
Master of Computer Science; 2003<br>
(Includes coursework in Artificial Intelligence, Autonomous Agents,
Neural Networks, Data Mining, Semantic Web, OS internals, Compiler
Design.)</li>
</ul>

<h2>Work Experience:</h2>

<dl>
<dt>1997-1999</dt>

<dd>
<p>Honeywell: Software Engineer. I maintained and tested code on
real-time embedded systems for autopilot flight control systems for
small business and commuter jets such as Lear, Embraer, and
Gulfstream.</p>
</dd>

<dt>1992-1994</dt>

<dd>
<p>Mirage Resorts, Las Vegas, NV: Room reservations clerk for the
Mirage Hotel.</p>
</dd>
</dl>

<h2>Technical Skills:</h2>

<dl>
<dt>Operating Systems and Hardware:</dt>

<dd>
<p>I acquired my BS degree programming in a UNIX environment very
similar to the Athena Project. This lab included Sparc, DEC,
Silicon Graphics machines including Indys, an ONYX, and a Cray
Supercomputer. My real-time embedded systems experience at
Honeywell exposed me to customized Intel and Z80 processors. I've
also programmed in Apple ][+, pre-PowerPC era Macintosh, and x86
systems. I have briefly touched the Visual Studio environment here
and there. My home system is a single 686 with a swappable hard
drive, it tries to be a Win98 system half the time and a Debian/GNU
Linux system the remainder of the time.</p>
</dd>

<dt>Languages:</dt>

<dd>
<p>I'm most competent in C/C++, Java, and Perl, plus scripting languages
in a UNIX environment. I have worked with many languages including
assembly in x86, 680xx, and VAX, Apple ][+ BASIC, FORTRAN, HTML,
Java, Lex/Yacc, LISP, Maple, MATLAB, OpenGL, PASCAL, PERL, SQL.</p>
</dd>
</dl>

<h2>Communication Skills:</h2>

<p>I am quite effective at communication in general, both written
and spoken. I am comfortable speaking in front of groups of people.
My native language is English, I am familiar with and can hold
conversation in Spanish and Polish.</p>

<h2>Personal Interests:</h2>

<p>Try not to get into conversations with me regarding societal
policy, you may not be able to lose me for the rest of the day.
Other interests outside of computers include: firearms, especially
practical tactical shooting; and video games, especially
development as a hobby (I have learned and have been keeping track
of the video game industry business models and trends since 2001. I
have not completed any video game projects yet, but look forward to
doing so someday.)</p>
