I've been using fetchmail for a long time in this situation, so nothing new
has changed or been introduced.
I dialup to Cybertrails, run fetchmail, and get these

fetchmail: socket error while fetching from Konzoo
fetchmail: Query status=2 (SOCKET)
fetchmail: socket error while fetching from Konzoo
fetchmail: Query status=2 (SOCKET)
fetchmail: socket error while fetching from Konzoo
fetchmail: Query status=2 (SOCKET)
fetchmail: No mail for kernel@konzoo.com at mail.konzoo.com

In this instance, kernel@konzoo.com checked okay, but the other three didn't.
Most of the time none work or they all work.

I searched google but only got one relevant hit and it was unanswered.
Any ideas? I would guess my modem is going bad, but at my shop we use cable,
and it either checks okay, or says it couldn't communicate with the server.

I'm lost.
