Adding a third IDE drive in Linux

Then...  partition the disk as desired with fdisk, create a filesystem on
each partition with mke2fs, and then add it to your /etc/fstab so it's
mounted automatically at boot time.

For example,

fdisk /dev/hdd
mke2fs /dev/hdd1
mount /dev/hdd1 /mountmebabylikethebadmountpointIreallyam
