Linux bloating.

This was easy in Debian..Did base install and apt-get
the rest.  Mandrake and RH don't seem to like to 
install without KDE and Gnome stuff.  I left most of
it
off and still ran low on space.  WE DO want to be able
to use the system after it's installed right?

I agree that Mandrake and RH should have a 'base' 
install with an easy to use 'rpm get' type prog.  I 
haven't been able to get the MandrakeUpdateRobot to
work without seg faulting.

A base system without the Gnome and Kde stuff would
be fine.
