Hi I would like to assign several IP address to a single nic. I have 3 =
different series of IP address that I need to use. My home network uses =
192.168.0.1 through 255 subnet mask 255.255.255.0, the LAN at work uses =
10.194.78.1 through 255 subnet mask 255.255.255.0 and our live internet =
connection uses 63.226.30.193 throufh 207 subnet mask 255.255.255.240. I =
have eth0 using 192.168.0.3,eth0:0 using 10.194.78.118 and eth0:1 using =
63.226.30.198

From the linux box itself I can ping any of the 3 addresses, when =
connected to my home network I can ping the 192 address but neither =
other and when connected to the lan at work Ican neither ping from the =
linux box to anywhere else, or frm anywhere else to the linux box.

I suspect that the problem is that I can use multiple IP address but all =
withn the same series. Is this so? Most important is to be able to use =
the 63.226.30.198 IP address as that is the address of a website thae we =
host. Would removing the other ip addresses and only using the =
63.226.30.198 make that address visible on the internet, assuming that =
Qwest routes it properly?

Charlie

PS I am using redhat 5.2 on an old IBM Aptiva with 32meg ram and a =
150mhz pentium=20
