I have 1 copper pair assigned to DSL and 1 copper pair
assigned to POTS.
My FlowPoint 2200 Router says I have SDSL.

The main reason most people have to get a new phone line
is that USWest[spit] runs most residential phone lines thru
a SLC-96 multiplexer at the subdivision.
That unit is *not* compatible with any DSL and the second phone
line is ususally installed to bypass the SLC-96 unit.
