OT: remapping keys

\_ I have a slight problem. As everyone knows the best M$ products are
\_ hardware and with this thought I am using M$ natural keyboard.
\_ I like the design (It could use some improvements).
\_
\_ My question is:
\_
\_ How can I remap Control key to be in place of Caps Lock?

under linux it's a standard trick with xmodmap. see the man page.
xmodmap rocks...it also lets you use the ugly windows key if you play
with it right.

under windows....um, um, get a programmable kbd like the Gateway 2000
AnyKey (which the pinheads have stopped manufacturing grrr!). The one
I have at home has the *kbd* doing the remapping of ctl & caps lock.
Also, one set of the f11/f12 buttons is bound to ctrl-alt-kpd+ and
ctrl-alt-kpd- .

Locally, on a keyboard that has had the windows key remapped to
mod4/hyper, it's bound to a small program that runs when the window
manager sees ctrl-alt-hyper-shift-button4 and -button5 (the mouse
wheel.

\_ I need to have this working on Linux and Winblows.

\_ p.s.
\_ I have great Idea for a cool keyboard design, but I do not know
\_ how I can get someone to make one (a prototype) any ideas on this one??

On this topic, I want a cheap but sturdy split keyboard (ie: two
physical pieces). All the ones I have seen so far run like $300 or
so, and that's a bit much.
