Best mouse for linux/W98 dual boot?

I picked up a Kensington ValueMouse Scroll at COSTCO for $20.
The question remains, will it work in Linux?  We shall see.

My original Microsoft mouse finally bit it.  I bought it for my 286 and used
it all these years.
Now I would like a three button mouse for my serial port.  COSTCO has an
optical MS with that scrolling wheel for about $40.  I don't know if the
scrolling wheel works in linux.
