[PLUG-Devel] Cross-platform Python development platform?

I'm looking for recommendations for an IDE or suite of tools for
developing in Python. I want the same tool(s) to work on both Linux and
Windows so that developing on either platform "feels" and operates the
same.

This development is not for the web. I'll be taking commands and data in
and out of system ports (serial, ATA, SCSI, etc.) and producing log
analysis reports.

Eric3[1] - I have been using Eric3 on Linux which is purported to work on
Windows[2] but I have not tried yet.

Eclipse[3] with PyDev[4] - I tried this out a long time ago. It was
barely usable back then but it may have improved by now.

Any other recommendations?

Alan
