solution:
Download the appropriate .deb files from
CODE: SELECT ALL
http://packages.ubuntu.com/yakkety/e2fslibs
http://packages.ubuntu.com/yakkety/e2fsprogs
and install e2fslibs, then install e2fsprogs.
