Option #2
Name the value.
Cell A1 = "Tax Rate"
Cell A2 = 6.5%
Give cell C2 a name of SalesTax
Cells C1-15 = sales subtotal
Enter into C2 "= C1 * SalesTax"
Enter into C3 "= C1 + C2"
Copy C2 and C3 down.
A little more work, but it documents what you are doing so you don't have to guess 6 months from now when you look at it again, lol
