I’m surprised nobody has replied, but I see that two “mailman” veterans, since 1970 or thereabouts, have not posted since you asked the question. I’m sure they will. That’s der Hans and Brian Cluff.
Mailman is an old standard. I think that’s how we’re talking now, since the URL at the bottom of the message says:

I have a nephew who has been running mailman forever, for discussion lists and family chatter, and I gather it doesn’t require much maintenance.
