For linux?
Not bad actually, Steam is getting more all the time, though your
still not going to find any of the "most wanted" or "newest
releases" out on it yet like COD, Assasins Creed, MMO's, etc.
Fine because I suck at twitch games anyways. I'd be happy if
they'd just port all the old jrpg games to it that are mostly 2d
anyways.
Developers still almost exclusively code games around windoze
directx drivel, mostly so it's an easy port to xbox or windoze,
and covers probably 70% of their potential market at least. Video
card vendors will hack out driver changes for any AAA game that
mishandles directx instruction so kids don't take to forums
flaming how bad their drivers are, but you'll see quick with video
card hardware under linux how bad they can be. See some of my
posts about amd/fglrx nightmares.
I don't often play games, but when I do, they're usually old (like
me) anyways. I'm good with busting out 20 year old games, old
snes/genesis/ps1 roms, which tend to be readily available with
emulators under linux, or even android. About the newest shooter
I enjoy is Postal2 (circa 2005) that works great on linux, and
that's just more because it brings me back to Beavis and Butthead
level humor running around peeing on people, especially once you
unlock the flammable pee. Much like GTA games, more fun to just
run around causing trouble vs. actually playing the levels - great
stress relief after a bad day at work.
I think even game publishers realize younger people buying games
don't really watch tv anymore to bother advertising there, at
least not on ota feeds.

I am not a gamer but I was wondering how the
selection of games is in recent times. It is strange, they don't
seem to advertise for games any longer. But then again I don't
watch much TV with advertising on it.
