I've been building software for 30 years, 15 of them in *NIX environment.
There is not a single good (security) reason why a 'make' would ask a
password...
That makes me wonder...
Also, as soon as you fire 'make install', all the bets are off.
But don't worry, the house is not on fire (yet ;-) ), I'll download that
software and determine what in the World this thing is doing.
