I can't say haven't been at all interested in watching spoon-fed,
perpetual drivel on television for a long time, but xbmc has plugins for
various tv-ish services. I got a boxee box appliance that has a
plethora of options, but I never bothered to use them.
Rather most people that can download just what they want to watch via
usenet, bittorrent, or ?. Shared storage and automated media
harvesting, why would I? (hint: sickbeard/couchpotato/usenet, avoid
torrents).
