here are the errors I get:
E: linux-image-3.0.0-15-generic: subprocess installed post-removal
script returned error exit status 1
E: linux-image-3.0.0-16-generic: subprocess installed post-removal
script returned error exit status 1
E: linux-image-3.0.0-17-generic: subprocess installed post-removal
script returned error exit status 1
Then I uninstall ssh and openssh-server in the hopes that the
reinstallation would fix it but now it won't rerinstall with synaptic. So I
thought that perhaps apt-get from the command line would do it with the
results at 'a'. I think it is hanging at the removal of the kernel packages.
