Subject: Re: flashplayer disabled
ouch. yeah, I ran into a bunch of regex errors. in my case, I had to ignore them (that virtual package wasn't too much of a problem).

I might suggest using the command line version of aptitude. you can do a package search and resolve some of these errors. the flash* gave me some suggested filenames and that is what I ended up doing.

the only real problem was having to review the screen about a dozen times (using a screen reader is definitely slow and frustrating).

I suspect that there is some issue with the linux version of flash player and its windows counterpart. don't even ask about OS X (I use vlc and its plugins for content playback here on snow leopard). at least there, I have access to the play controls.

I had to log in and do an apt-get install flash* and it got anything with flash in the name and description. sure, it is a shotgun approach, but it did work. one thing you might want to try is get the vlc package and its various plugins. those also work.

I then went to a page I viewed earlier today and it too wouldn't run. I ran apt-get to reinstall it but it still isn't working. I donn't know what else to say about it. The version that is installed now is 11.0.1.152 . I don't know what version I had before I ran apt-get. I have to go to work now so I will be back at about 10.
