Be sure that if you need reverse DNS that varies from whoever provides your
CIDR block, your upstream provides and allows that also.

There are actually two records involved in setting up the mail server:

A record pointing hostname to IPADDRESS
MX record setting precedence for mail delivery for the domain that points to
the hostname.

Be aware that the hostname must match in mail for the RFC to be valid.

nslookup
>*set type=mx
> mail.mydomain.com


Should give you information that matches your new DNS.
