Duties and Responsibilities



The ASU Advanced Computing Center (A2C2) is searching for a Manager of
High Performance Computing Operations. This position is responsible for
architecture, implementation, management, and support of ASU's Advanced
Computing Center infrastructure and data center facilities. In this
role you will plan, coordinate, manage and support day-to-day operations
of ASU's Linux-based 5000 processor HPC cluster, Infiniband network,
Lustre file system, HPC software stack/tools and MOAB/Torque scheduling
system. The position is responsible for project management specific to
evaluating and implementing new emerging technology, software, tools and
new hardware acquisitions; supervise, train and develop operations team;
drive continuous improvement and process efficiency. Facilitate
collaboration by working closely with ASU's research partners, Industry
partners, vendors; provide advanced technical support to over 500 users.
Facilitate customer relationships and satisfaction while ensuring
adherence to ASU policies and processes.



Days and Schedule:

Monday-Friday, 8:00AM-5:00PM; to include evenings, weekend and 24/7
on-call support as needed.



Minimum Qualifications



Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field AND five (5)
years of experience in large scale computer operations, which include
three (3) years in a supervisory capacity; OR, Nine (9) years of
experience in large scale computer operations which includes at least
three (3) years in a supervisory capacity; OR, Any equivalent
combination of experience and/or education from which comparable
knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.



Desired Qualifications



Demonstrated experience with Linux Enterprise/Open Source clustering
technologies.

Demonstrated experience with distributed or parallel file system data
storage technologies.

Demonstrated experience with Infiniband networking technologies.

Demonstrated experience with implementing IT architecture and managing
an IT Data Center.

Extensive IT project management experience.

Demonstrated experience with leading a technical computer operations
team.

Effective verbal and written communication and organization skills.
