Subject: Why has my printer quit working?
I just moved my parallel printer cable from one linux box to another linux
box but after going through the printer config, it still isn't working.

Following is a recap of what I've done and seen:

Your printer HP LaserJet 4 Plus Printer is now connected to a parallel
port. This type of connection is currently not fully supported by HPLIP.
You get full HPLIP support for your device if you connect it.
You can now set up your device with HPLIP anyway, set it up without
HPLIP (print-only), or cancel the setup (i.e. to reconnect your device).
You can revise your choice by clicking your printer's entry in the main
window, clicking the "Edit" button, and choosing "Printer connection type".

== Configured on this machine:
Def - Printer Name - State - Model - Connection Type - Description - Location
X - HPLaJet4Plus - Enabled - HPLJ4P - HP printer on parallel - HP
LaserJet4 Plus

== Configured on other machines:
   HPLaser    Enabled 192.168.0.67        Location Unknown
X  HPPSC1200    Enabled 192.168.0.73        Location Unknown

== Configure CUPS printing system -- CUPS Configuration:
Choose whether printers connected to this machine can be accessible by
remote machines and by which. And whether printers on remote machines
should be automatically made available on this machine.

[ Remote CUPS server and no local CUPS daemon: Off ]
[x] The printers on this machine are available to other computers
[x] Automatically find available printers on remote machines
[ Printer sharing on hosts/networks: Custom configuration ]
[ Additional CUPS servers: None ]

== Remote CUPS server and no local CUPS daemon
In this mode the local CUPS daemon will be stopped and all printing requests
go directly to the server specified below. Note that it is not possible to
define local print queues then and if the specified server is down it cannot
be printed at all from this machine.

(*) Off
( ) On, Name or IP of remote server: [________________]

== Sharing of local printers
These are the machines and networks on which the locally
connected printer(s) should be available:
(option 1 selected) - Local network(s)
(option 2 not selected) - Host all
[ Add host/network]
[ Edit selected host/network] --- selected this:
[ Remove selected host/network]
[ Done ]

--- Choose the network or host on which local printers to be available:
(*) Local network(s)
( ) Interface "eth0"
( ) IP address of host/network

What do I need to do to get it working?
