It appears as if your problem is related to the dbus-daemon. Cheese
uses it. Your video card and driver are seen just fine. Try an
external camera just to get it going for tomorrow night?
I am assuming this has to do with a partial update of some of the dbus
issues. That link is the bug trackers dialog and they often say "on
their side" when referring to drivers from manufacturers, etc.
You could possibly look at the recent patch list and roll back?
That's worked for me on my Sony with Ubuntu.
