1000 people is a large email list. Most ISP's will not let you send that quantity within a short time.
You will require a an auto responder. iContact is a good choice as is
http://www.aweber.com/pricing.htm. Both have about the same rates. With these two you are looking at about $30/mo for 1000 email accounts.
