Acer Aspire One keyboard is 89% and fully usable even for my fat
fingers.

The issue of course is price vs. screen size

I like the idea of cheap, replaceable computers for college students
because they are often dropped, stolen, lost, etc. Even good quality
computers don't last and it's no longer feasible to claim them on your
homeowners insurance because they'll raise your rates.

It's not about the keyboard but the netbooks do have a really small
screen - but they also only weigh 2 pounds. Lots to be said for not
carrying around a 5 pound 'laptop'

My experience is that no laptop will last 4 years unless it always stays
home and is rarely used.
