It is true that flash has a terminal number of writes before it will
not take another write. However, a good quality flash drive, even MLC
and consumer grade, purchased within the last 2-3 years will outlast a
HDD easily. Flash drives use wear-leveling and spare flash blocks to
overcome write endurance problems. Nearly any flash drive these days
will far outlast the warranty period of any HDD you care to name.
