As a real example, FreeBSD has a chat@ where anything can be discussed.
When a technical or FreeBSD list becomes of-topic, the posters politely
redirect the emails to chat@: "Our conversation has become off-topic. I
have changed to chat@ and bcc'd this list -- please continue the
discussion on chat@."
