Absolutely!
Years ago I coded for a software company on a vertical market financial
app. We had several rival companies. When a customer switched, in
whatever direction, there was never an issue. The data was provided, and
even some support and/or developer time given to getting the data out of
the old system and into the new system.
Of course I wouldn't expect a horizontal company like Intuit to give
actual time for this, but they should have an export to CSV option for
all your important data. It's very sad if they don't. Ok, it's not sad.
It's disgusting.
