I heard of a company that is currently putting their employees through
this crap. From what I understand, they are being forced to log
literally every minute of what they do into a ticketing system. Get a
phone call? have to log it. Someone walks by your cube and says "Good
morning...hey did you see that traffic this morning?", have to log it.
Not only this, but they are also (and they announced this to the
employees), actively monitoring the building badge readers and noting
what time everyone swipes their badges. Forgot your badge that day and
followed someone in? Better tell your manager or else HR comes asking
why you aren't in your honeycomb like a good little drone.

Supposedly, this insane time tracking is to help management "see what
everyone is doing", but with that level of detail, it almost seems like
they are flogging everyone to encourage folks to leave instead of firing
them. I guess too much information is better than not enough, but do you
really need to know that Joe Worker spent 5 minutes replying to emails
at 9:45?
