Oggetto: Sound Problem
I have Ubuntu 7.10 on a system that has an Intel DG965RY motherboard with a SigmaTel sound chip STAC9227. When I connect a cable from the radio earphone output to the mic input there is no output the the external speakers. This same setup produces sound when in Windows XP. When I go to “System -> Sound->Audio Conference->Sound Capture->Alsa Advance Linux Sound Architecture” and click on “Test” the sound comes thru fine. I also get this error message “Failed to construct test pipeline for 'gconfaudiosrc! audioconvert! audiosample! gconfaudiosink profile = chat'. When I close the error message the sound output stops. All the other tests work just fine.

I have no clue as to what to do next. I am open to any bright ideas!

Thank you,
Clayton Stapleton
