Yes, got to restart sshd on the correct system :).

Also, restarting sshd restarts the daemon that accepts connections, but
shouldn't affect already established connections.

Please, no. Use of xhost in this way generally should go away.

There might be a reason for it, but I haven't run into one in many, many
years.
