Hey Betty. Just to be clear you are saying that you can't burn cds and
not that your drive is not recognizing any media placed in it? I have
never heard of serpentine before as I have always used Gnomebaker or
K3B. If complete dvds need to be copied from dvd/dvd I would recommend
K9Copy instead.
Are you using CDR's or CDRW's. My experience with CDRW's has been
abysmal at best. When burning make sure you burn at slow speeds, 2-4X
is good or the lowest setting your burner will run.

hmmm, well after i was sooo bragging that everything was working fine in
feisty fawn, i tried to burn a cd. actually tried any number of cd's.
everytime it (serpentine) asks to have a blank cd put into the burner,
and i do that, it keeps asking, like it doesn't recognize that one is in
there.
i tried using different cds. and i tried using the second build of
feisty that i have on my office computer (in case it was the burner
(hardware) ) itself. same message. i looked on message boards but didn't
find this problem.
any ideas?
this could be a drag.
thx
