This does not solve your problem, but it would be extremely
interesting if you could boot an ubuntu 7.10 LiveCD and see if it
picks up your wireless. Why? Because that was one of the big pushes
for 7.10 which just came out last Thursday. At least you might learn
without altering your system whether the whole setup can reasonably
work in Linux and go from there. Let us know of course what happens
if you do it.
