Subject: alsaconf every time
Greetings and salutations PLUG members, I have had this small problem
for a while. I have to run "alsaconf" every time my I boot up. Its
really strange and other people have had this same problem
(http://www.linuxquestions.org/questions/showthread.php?t=543664). I
have updated my modules list (/etc/modules.autoload.d/kernel-2.6) to
reflect the correct sound card driver (snd_hda_intel). Still no luck. I
have compiled this driver as part of the kernel and as a module. This
really is just a big inconvenience. I am running Gento 2007.0 kernel
2.6.21 (and the Con Kolivas' patch) on a Thinkpad T60.

lsmod before alsaconf
snd_seq 40912 0
snd_seq_device 6156 1 snd_seq
snd_hda_intel 15384 0
snd_hda_codec 194816 1 snd_hda_intel
snd_pcm 54276 2 snd_hda_intel,snd_hda_codec
snd_timer 16516 2 snd_seq,snd_pcm
snd_page_alloc 7304 2 snd_hda_intel,snd_pcm

lsmod after alsaconf
snd_pcm_oss 32544 0
snd_mixer_oss 13056 1 snd_pcm_oss
snd_seq 40912 0
snd_seq_device 6156 1 snd_seq
snd_hda_intel 15384 0
snd_hda_codec 194816 1 snd_hda_intel
snd_pcm 54276 3 snd_pcm_oss,snd_hda_intel,snd_hda_codec
snd_timer 16516 2 snd_seq,snd_pcm
snd_page_alloc 7304 2 snd_hda_intel,snd_pcm

If you need anything else let me know I appreciate any help. I generally
don't like to ask these kinds of questions, because I know its something
really stupid that I just missed or that I failed to read.
Thank you much.
Kevin Faulkner
