Mandrake 10. I did get ffmpeg compiled and installed, after a little
work. I found a different site where I could download the files using
subversion, but I did want to figure out how to decompress a 7z archive,
for future reference. The problem I'm having is finding the right
codecs. I downloaded the source for "faac", which should at least have
the AAC audio codec, which I need. That's the one I'm having trouble
with. (My distro's so old that I prefer tarballs to RPM's, seems like I
run into less dependency hell that way.) Anyway, the faac 1.2.5 source
was a real mess, I had to tweak the makefiles to get everything to
compile, and then it was missing an MP4 library. So maybe I should look
elsewhere.
