I don't think that there is a way to start an app from a browser. If
all you want to do is view images in you browser you might be
interested in a javascript based slideshow. I have used a very simple
one from codelifter.com that works pretty well, it's one of the ones
on
http://www.codelifter.com/main/javascript/index_images.html. If
your looking for something else just do a google for "javascript
slideshow" and you will have lots of choices.
