well folks, I have decided that cox.net no longer needs to be my mail
provider. I have moved my e-mail to gmail.com (btw, I now know how to get
kmail to work directly with gmail, so if anyone wants that info, I'll be more
than happy to help).
the synopsis:
recently, cox communications started blocking outbound e-mails based on some
terms in a script or application they use (said application being designed to
look for and block "probable spam"). unfortunately, this has caused a number
of their customers (me included) to actually not be able to send some mail.
apparently, this script or application is not user setable from the client end
and it also seems that no publically available data can be found on it, how
its setup or anything else pertaining to its operation.
so, with that in mind, I am "moving my mail".
anyway, I just thought I'd let everyone know.
TMH
p. the setup for gmail in kmail "is so easy, even a caveman can do it!". :)
