Subject: Re: ATI Mobility Radeon X1400
Yep, the issues were getting the native resolutions on the new short screens
which are 1280x800 or 1450x900 (?) or 1680x1050. IOW, I got 6.10 working at
1024x768 on an LCD that was one of those. It was usable but distorted since
it was not the "old style" 4:3 aspect ratio. I think I could get the native
resolution now on the Intel Drivers but the X1400 might offer other benefits
for some games under Windows (not a great gaming system, but maybe more
serviceable than the Intel video). But I sure would not want the
questionable benefit of being able to play eq2 on a laptop if it meant not
getting native resolutions while in Linux. Hence the concern about the
X1400 with Ubuntu.

Anyway, thanks for your replies.
