Careful... some brands of notebooks have some sort of hardware DRM
where you can only use their brand of internal miniPCI wireless card.
I recall HP being on that list.
Here's one example

Warning: the HP BIOS locks out non-HP mini-PCI cards, so don't expect
a non-HP mini-PCI card to work. Someone claims there is a workaround."
