I have had great luck with cards using atheros chipsets, and the madwifi
drivers. At home I have a Belkin WG511T and a Airlink AWLC4030 which
have worked great. Got the airlink one on sale at Fry's for about 8
bucks; bought 2 of them. Whatever you get, verify the specs for the
particular revision of the card, as some vendors change the chipset with
each new version. You might consider using a site like this one:
