Best way to go in that respect is to create another partition, boot to
a livecd, mount both on their own mountpoints and run "tar -cvpSf -
/mnt/source_mountpoint | tar -xvpSf - -C /mnt/destination_mountpoint".
Then go into grub, and create a boot entry for the kernel on the other
partition.
