OT: Electronic components

In addition to software hacking I enjoy doing a little bit of hardware
on the side - something for my software to control. Does anyone know of
an electronics or surplus store in the area with electronic
components(leds, resistors, etc) - something like Radio Shack but
without the Radio Shack markup?
