Topic: Scrum Software Development

Scrum[1] is an agile software development method for managing tasks and
work in a changing environment. While widely used hand-in-hand with
extreme programming (XP) techniques[2], Scrum can be applied to other
"traditional" development methods.

Alan Dayley will lead a presentation and discussion of this project
management technique. He is not experienced using this model but has
recently become very interested in it. Do you or have you used Scrum in
a project? What was good and bad about it? What worked and what
didn't? Come join Alan on a journey of discovery to see if Scrum or
some of its techniques can help improve your development efforts.

Presenter Bio:

Alan is a Software Engineer at Adtron Corporation doing mostly C coding
on embedded systems. He is host of the PLUG-Devel meetings and a member
of the PLUG Steering Committee. He finds it strange to write the
announcement and topic blurb for his own presentation.

Network Note:

The wireless Internet at Adtron is known to mostly work but is flaky.
We have a donated 8 port switch for wired connections but it can fill up
if many people want to connect. If you have an access point or a switch
to share for the duration of the meeting, it is much appreciated.

Alan
