Subject: Re: PLUG site incident last night
The recent turn of this thread unfortunate. I have been part of PLUG
since spring 2000 and can count on two fingers the number of "flame
wars" that have occurred on this list since then. Please, let's not
turn this thread into the third "flame fest."

All input to improving the group website is encouraged. Please keep it
professional and direct to the issue. Disagreement and sometimes
"amateur" results are expected but personal attacks and impolite
language do not have place in this community.

Ed's points about security are well taken. Jim's comments about seeking
to help rather than promulgating negativity are also correct. The
context in which these ideas were expressed were over the line to
personal. I choose to accept the constructive points and ignore the
negative.

Further discussion about the website and it's improvement will proceed
in the plug-webdev email list. Thank you all for your input.

Alan
