Subject: Re: VMware Workstation vs. Server
I run XP Pro on my laptop with VMware running 2 instances of RHELAS4 for
development due to company policy. I started with Workstation and moved over
to Server (free). I noticed only a slight difference in speed between the
two versions, with workstation actually being faster.

The biggest difference seemed to be in the way drivers were handled, Server
was practically painless to install, whereas Workstation took a few days and
a lot of headache. Server also had no trouble with the virtual networking
setup, I have 1 RHEL instance pulling DHCP from the company LAN and the 2nd
RHEL instance running on a private Virtual LAN between the 2. Workstation
wanted to either have them both face external or internal.

That sums up my experience.

Enjoy
