Keep in mind there are different types of UPS's as well some do nothing
until to the incoming power except measure it and if it falls outside of
set range then it switches over to batteries. The other type (usually
more expensive) make there own output by converting the incoming power
to dc and then back to AC again to run your servers. This type will
protect against incoming power problems, the other type doesn't above a
normal surge suppressor.
