Debian Package extraction

All,

I downloaded a trial of MainActor which comes in debain or suse. I don't have
either and so I downloaded the debian package. I can't figure out how to
extract the contents of the archive so i can try them in my system.

I have a ubuntu cd running so I can access the apt tools, but how do I extract
the package?
